INTRODUCTION
Welcome to your Recruitment and Training Enforcement (RATE) course,
I am <RANK Name> and I will be your instructor today.
During today's RATE course, you may not talk or move unless directed to.
There will be designated times for questions, so please wait until asked.
This training will take about 20 minutes, but if I am going too fast, please let me know.
During this training please respond to me with "Yes Instructor" or "No Instructor".
Do you have any questions?
Wait for reply of: "Yes or No instructor".
DUTIES OF RANKS
In SDF there are four different types of ranks with different duties, these are:
Enlisted - These are people like you, who are the main recruiters.
NCO - These people are senior recruiters and also are the main instructors for our training courses.
Warrant Officers - These people are the supervisors of the HQ and are in charge of discipline.
It is important to be able to identify Warrant Officers as you must call them Sir or Ma'am.
Take note that SNCOs and Warrant Officers wear the same uniform although SNCOs are
not addressed as Sir or Ma'am.
In the Navy Force, they will be wearing a khaki shirt and pants.
In the Maritime Force, they will be wearing a khaki shirt and dark blue pants.
In the Ground Force, they will be wearing a white shirt and brown pants.
In the Air Force, they will be wearing a dark blue shirt and light blue pants.
Any questions so far?
Wait for reply of: "Yes or No instructor".
Commissioned Officers - These are the managers and oversee all functions in HQ.
Officers are also addressed as sir or ma'am.
Navy Officers wear all black or khaki uniform with or without grey/gold/white shoulder bars.
Marine Officers wear all olive or khaki uniform with or without grey/gold/olive shoulder bars,
or khaki shirt and olive pants.
Army Officers wear a black top and blue pants with grey/gold/black shoulder bars or
white shirt and dark blue pants.
Air Force Officers wear all blue uniform with grey/gold/blue shoulder bars or
light blue shirt with dark blue pants.
Any questions?
Wait for reply of: "Yes or No instructor".
RULES OF SDF
While working at SDF, you need to follow some very basic rules:
1. Obey the Habbo way - such as no swearing or bullying,
2. Do not self-promote or work at another military or agency,
3. After entering the room, please do not loiter in the lobby, and
4. When in HQ, do not wander around aimlessly - sit at the front desk and recruit.
Not following these rules can result in a demotion or being fired.
Any questions about the rules?
Wait for reply of: "Yes or No instructor".
CHAIN OF COMMAND
The chain of command is the line of authority and responsibility along which orders
and questions are passed starting from the highest ranking officer down to new
sailors/marines/soldiers/airmen like yourself.
The Chain of Command allows HQ to function efficiently.
What does this mean for you? It means don't go straight to the highest ranking officer!
Generally, your first point of contact will be a Petty Officer or Sergeant, then a Warrant Officer.
I must say again - do not go to the highest rank straight away!
Do you have any questions about the Chain of Command?
Wait for reply of: "Yes or No instructor".
SDF PROCEDURES
One of the most important procedures is the "Attention Procedure" this is
how you show respect for a Commissioned Officer. There are two types of attentions:
If you hear "ATTENTION" called and you are in the front row, sentry, assignment or duty desk
then you must stand up behind your chair. This attention is called for all officers.
The second procedure is called "ATTENTION ON DECK" this is called for senior officers
and requires the WHOLE ROOM except for the AFK row to stand up - this includes the rest area.
If the officer entering HQ has been awarded the Medal of Honor, "hand, SALUTE!" will also
be called. This means you must salute (wave). You can do this by typing o/
This is a complicated procedure - so do you have any questions before we continue?
Wait for reply of: "Yes or No instructor".
When at attention, do not turn or move. It is also polite to drop any hand items you have.
You then need to remain at attention until the officer says "At Ease", "Carry on" or "As you were".
If they say "Stand at Ease" it means you may talk, but must remain standing.
You do not need to worry about calling this command, a more senior rank will do it.
Do you have any questions?
Wait for reply of: "Yes or No instructor".
TRAINER: Do a practice attention procedure now.
Use the yellow chat bubbles that are used in HQ for the procedure.
RECRUITMENT & JOB EXPLANATION
Your job as an Enlisted rank is to sit at the front desk and recruit: to help people join.
Greet the civilians who enter the HQ with a friendly attitude, and invite them to sit at your
desk if they would like a job, for example, a line you could use is:
"Welcome to SDF. Want to join the <Your Branch>? Come sit at my desk!"
Once at your desk, instruct them to do the following:
1. Change their motto to [Ground Force], [Air Force], [Maritime Force] or [Navy Force],
2. Make sure they have hair that is neat and tied back (ask a senior rank if you're unsure).
3. Instruct them to join the SDF Supporters Badge - the one with love hearts,
4. Have them put on the uniform on the mannequin, and
5. Tell them to go line up at the sentry for training, and training should commence within 10 mins.
This will be your primary job as a new recruit - so do you have any questions?
Wait for reply of: "Yes or No instructor".
TEALs
Along side recruiting new personnel you will also attend extra training sessions,
we call them TEALs which means - Further Education and Training.
TEALs help you develop and will teach you everything you need know to have a successful
career here at KSDF.
Much like attentions they will be announced in yellow text bubbles, you may or may not
be called to attention when one is announced so it is important to watch out for them.
Here is an example of what it will look like when one is announced:
(Use yellow text for the following example.)
I am going to be hosting TEAT {A}. This is Basic Firearms Training.
This TEAL is for those ranked OE-1 and above. This is SR/PVT/Pvt and above.
If you do not have this FEAT you are required to attend.
Refreshers are not permitted. On my command, fall out to the R&R area.
You will then be asked to fall out, which is when you line up for the FEAT. You may notice
it mentioned those 'OR-1 and above', each rank is associated with an 'E' you will finish this
training as either OR-1, OR-2 or OR-3. It is important to attend all the TEALs available to your rank,
they not only help you develop but also help you progress through the ranks.
Do you have any questions?
Wait for reply of: "Yes or No instructor".
HQ Procedures and Terms
There are a few terms you'll hear in HQ, here are some:

"Report" - this means you need to see the person calling you. You will be trained in this
procedure later - usually at your first promotion.
BRB or AFK - you are required to sit in the AFK row (not the rest area).
Are there any questions?
Wait for reply of: "Yes or No instructor".
